President’s Message
NACA President Kenneth Wilson
County Administrator, Franklin County, Ohio
Greetings to all members of the National Association of County Administrators (NACA).
I hope you are entering spring renewed and well. NACA is here to assist in any way we can regarding creating additional professional development resources. Spring is a time of new beginnings and the growth of all things.
As you know, NACA provides us with a valuable network of professionals who have committed to public service, with whom we can share insights on county-specific management challenges and opportunities.
NACA encourages professional excellence to improve the management of county government. Our members are county administrators & managers from across the country, and many are members of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and their counties belong to the National Association of Counties (NACo).
For information on what we are involved in please check the NACA website at countyadministrators.org for information or follow us on LinkedIn. I very much value every member of this organization so please feel free to contact me with any ideas on how to make NACA more of a valued resource for you. County government provides so many critical and essential services so let’s all promote our work to the fullest extent possible!
I want to congratulate individuals that received NACo Presidential Appointments for 2024-2025. The appointments are available online at here.
I hope is ready for the fall season and Back to School time. Good luck to all students as they return to classes at various levels. August is also a time when public health departments around the country are recognizing and remembering loved ones lost to accidental overdoses. August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day and there have been many events in my county sponsored by the Franklin County Public Health Department to raise awareness of substance use disorder, combat stigmatization, promote treatment, celebrate recovery, and strengthen our collective efforts to prevent overdose deaths. More information is available about International Overdose Awareness Day at International Overdose Awareness Day: 31 August (overdoseday.com)
Thanks for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you all at the 2024 ICMA Annual Conference on September 21- 25 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. I look forward to a large crowd for this year's Idea Exchanges at the ICMA Annual Conference.
Yours Truly,
Kenneth N. Wilson, MPA, CTA, ECI
President, NACA
